SHIZUKU is a sake vessel made of high-purity tin castings, produced with the casting techniques of Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, a town of metal craft with a history of more than four hundred years. Tin is said to keep water fresh and make flavors mellower, and it has long been used for food and drinking vessels. This is a series of sake vessels that combine both art and practicality.
The design on the base was inspired by the dripping water that slowly builds stalactites. We hope you will savor your favorite drink in the same unhurried time in which a limestone cave takes shape. Even in a modern world where time keeps speeding up, nature continues to mark out its own timeless pace. Thinking of the work of the 'drops' that form a limestone cave over thousands or tens of thousands of years, we shaped this into a sake vessel so that, as you drink, you can feel yourself living in harmony with nature.
