About Tajima Glass

Tajima Glass is a glass manufacturer that produces "Edo Glass" and "Edo Kiriko," which have been passed down since the Edo period. We do not want to let the techniques from the Edo period die out. We want to pass on the tradition to the future. Tajima Glass has inherited the techniques of mold blowing, thin legs, molding, covering, and stretching. Rather than mass-producing by machine, each piece is made by hand, making each one original.

Mount Fuji Glasses, winner of the Japan Tourism Agency Commissioner's Award

The bottom of the glass is carved into the sand to represent the snow-capped Mount Fuji. In the "Souvenir Grand Prix" competition, which has been held by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's Japan Tourism Agency since 2004, this glass won the Grand Prize and the Japan Tourism Agency Commissioner's Award in 2015. The color of the drink poured into the glass is reflected on the mountain surface, allowing you to enjoy a variety of different expressions.
